The Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi comes under the aegis of the Chandigarh Arts Council. Its main function is to promote the performing arts in the city, to preserve tradition and culture, and encourage talent in the fields of music, dance and drama. It collaborates with government agencies as well as other private institutions, organizing art and culture events and festivals from time to time.
